I can’t believe ….
This Sausage Ragu is 517 calories including pasta!

This was delish! And defo gonna be a new fav in our house! Super cheap to make too!
You wanna make sure you pick herby sausages for this recipe. I opted for Asda turkey caramelised onion ones and they are wow! And also low in calories and saturated fat!

Ingredients - serves two
4 x ASDA turkey caramelised onion sausages
1 finely diced red onion
100g diced courgette
250g Passata with garlic
20g tomato purée
8g garlic purée (cause I’m lazy and can’t stand cutting garlic)
1 tsp sugar
3 springs of fresh Rosemary- remove pins and finely chop
150g dried macaroni pasta
Method
In a pan using 1kcal spray on a low heat sauté the red onion and courgette for 10 mins.
Then cut the skin of your sausages and remove the sausage meat from the skin (discard skin) add sausage meat to pan and cook for a further 3 mins. Stirring occasionally.
Then add tomato purée, garlic purée, finely chopped rosemary, passata and sugar. You may also want to add a splash of water. Simmer on a low heat for 10-15 mins.
Done!
I served this with 75g each (dried weight) of macaroni pasta. And some steamed broccoli on the side!
Finish with some Parmesan!
